Tech Tip – PDA

I have owned a Palm Z22 for about a year and a half, and I just love it. It’s the most basic Palm PDA (personal digital assistant) available, but it has suited my needs very well. I paid $99 for mine at Office Depot, but you can probably find a good deal on one at Ebay.

I have a lot of deadlines at work that I track with Microsoft Outlook 2003. I use all the different colors available in Outlook to track various appointments, deadlines, and reminders. I also use Outlook to keep up with personal, family, and scout stuff. I have several colors for various work reminders, a color for family and scout things, and another color for miscellaneous personal items.

The Z22 comes with the capability of syncing basic calendar information with Outlook, but I use an add-on program called Chapura KeySuite which synchronizes my Z22 calendar with my Outlook calendar including all the colors I use for appointments. Being able to take my Outlook calendar (with all the colors) with me has been great.

I’m also a big fan of Ultrasoft Money which I use to track all my purchases on my Z22. I like the fact that it syncs with Microsoft Money on my desktop PC.

My Z22 has made it a lot easier for me to stay organized at work, at home, and with my Pack. If you can get one, I strongly recommend using a PDA to help you stay organized with work, family, and scouting. Link
