These “World of Bugs” Booklets (from the May 2007 “Cubs and Bugs Galore” theme) are still available from BSA National for $1.99 each.
I think you can’t go wrong doing cool nature stuff with Cub Scouts, and boys are fascinated by insects.
The “World of Bugs” booklets include craft activities, games, and stickers which can be used for den meetings.

The EPA has a number of puzzles, games, and activities about recycling at the Planet Protectors Club website. PPC is aimed at K-5 kids and may be helpful for planning “Litter to Glitter” den meeting activities.

Clip art can add a lot of fun and personality to your Pack newsletters and flyers, but it can be hard to find free clip art on the Internet.
One great source for free clip art is gif.com. Gif.com (owned by Jupitermedia) provides thousands of free clip art images for personal and nonprofit use. Among the 34 categories of images are: animals, nature, outdoors, and sports. Link

As you may be aware, KISMIF.org is written using WordPress.com (not to be confused with WordPress.org). WordPress.com makes it very easy to set up a nice looking website in blog format and to keep it updated. And WordPress.com is free to boot.
It costs a little extra if you want an abbreviated domain (e.g., “kismif.org” instead of “kismif.wordpress.com”).
I thought I would take a shot at setting up our Pack website (pack19online.com) using WordPress.com. Our website is primarily for reaching out to potential new recruits. I try to keep our current Pack schedule posted on it as well as some photos.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Link

If your Webelos program goes dormant for the summer, that is three months’ worth of missed opportunities to keep your boys excited about scouting. Summer is a great time for hiking, outdoor games, Cub Scout day camp, Cub Scout resident camp, and lots of other cool activities.
Summer is when boys have the most free time, and it is when they need scouting the most.
If you keep doing cool Webelos stuff during the summer, you improve your Webelos scouts’ chances of having a successful transition into Boy Scouts.

Many of the Cub Scouting links (e.g., Cub Scout Program Helps) at the newly re-formatted BSA scouting.org website have changed.
You’ll be happy to know that all the BSA links in the KISMIF.org “Blogroll” (in the “Blogroll” box on the right) have now been updated.

Most Boy Scout activities take place in the outdoors. You can help with the transition to Boy Scouts by keeping your Webelos program outdoor-focused (and in the outdoors) as much as possible.
Athlete, Sportsman, Naturalist, Forester, and Outdoorsman Webelos activity badges are great ones to work on in the outdoors.
Spending time in the outdoors is fun for your 4th and 5th graders, and it’s also good for them.

Cub Scout Talk is a great resource for Cub Scout leaders. This email discussion list on Yahoo Groups is very active and has a large number of dedicated and helpful volunteer Cub Scouters participating.
Like all Yahoo Groups discussion lists, Cub Scout Talk has an option permitting you to receive the postings combined in digest form (fewer emails). Or if you just want to participate via the web site, that is an option as well.
I highly recommend it for both new and experienced Cub Scouters. Link
