Kindergarten Lions: An Update

I got an email today from someone with the Northern Star Council with some additional information about the kindergarten Lions program which is currently undergoing pilot testing.

What I was told is that Northern Star Council is working with the BSA National Cub Scout Division in piloting the kindergarten Lions program. If the program is successful, BSA National may consider implementing the program on a national basis.

I was told that, contrary to my previous understanding, Northern Star Council is the only council at this time with official kindergarten Cub Scouts. There are some kindergarten Lion programs in other councils which are a part of Learning for Life.

Understandably, Northern Star Council is not at liberty to answer any questions about the curriculum of the kindergarten Lions program.  So please don’t call or email them with questions about the Lions program at this time. They won’t be able to tell you anything.

(Apparently, they were getting a number of inquiries due to the information I had posted previously about the program.  At their request, I have removed from that post a few links to NSC packs that are participating in the pilot program.)

We all wish Northern Star Council the best of luck with the kindergarten Lions pilot program!
