One of the first things taught to new Cub Scout leaders is the principle of KISMIF: Keep It Simple; Make It Fun.
Keep It Simple. Cub Scouting does not need to be elaborate or complex. In fact, making activities and events needlessly complicated or difficult is usually counterproductive because it increases the chances that something will go wrong and it places a greater stress load on the adults in charge.
Make It Fun. Cub Scouting is all about fun. If Cub Scout activities and events are not enjoyable, the vast majority of the boys will stop coming. Be sure that your den and pack events are fun for your Cub Scouts.
