One of the sad realities of today’s world is that many kids seem to think the only way to have fun playing a game is with a computer or a video game controller.
Kids who never play board or card games miss out on a lot. I believe board and card games involve the brain more than video games. And there is more social interaction with board and card games since the players are actually looking at each other rather than simply staring at a video screen.
Those are some of the reasons why I think it is a good idea for Cub Scout packs or dens to have at least one indoor game day each year.
Our pack had our indoor game night this past Tuesday, and it went very well. We had Chess, Trouble, Jenga, jigsaw puzzles, and lots of other fun games going on with all our dens.
